Role Introduction

This role will be responsible for helping to drive change and maintain standards across critical network solutions to both our own internal infrastructure, as well as our Managed Service customers.  

Key to success will be a close-knit tribal culture of customer centric service. You will be working closely with customers and internal stakeholders on a continuous basis, understanding their needs and helping to find solutions to complex problems, either as new opportunities or redesign of existing systems.

Communication and collaboration are paramount to this role, you will work closely with a variety of internal and external business stakeholders and will be continually engaged and collaborating with our clients.

What You Will Do

  • Assisting with service take-on from delivery into support, ensuring new solutions are fit for purpose, meeting customer needs and that support teams are ready and able to support the solution.
  • Helping to design, architect and assist with the implement and support of LAN, WAN and wireless solutions, as well as related technologies such as load-balancers, VPN and conditional access.
  • Working closely with both the Principal Network Architect as well as internal stakeholders, to understand and capture requirements, developing technically and commercially viable solutions, either for new opportunities with new customers, transformation for existing services or complex problems for previously implemented solutions.
  • Acting as a technical authority, working with the support teams and respective managers to both support them in their day-to-day responsibilities and keep them appraised on changes in technology, helping drive appropriate technical training.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and innovation to help reduce time spent by support teams which can in turn, free time to innovate and drive service improvement.

What You Will Have

  • Highly experienced, motivated, and capable of quickly engaging with a diverse client base with their own unique set of challenges and complexities.
  • Keen willingness to mentor others in the team and wider department on technologies within your field of expertise.
  • Demonstrable previous experience working with large-scale network solutions within a managed services environment or single, large enterprise.
  • Capable of producing detailed, well thought-through system design and functional specifications for network projects and solutions.
  • Solid awareness of commercial, contractual, assurance and governance constraints.
  • Expert at using architectural frameworks and principals.
  • Excellent communication verbal and written, being able to operate at all levels and articulate messages to a variety of different audiences. Understand people and cultural differences to build good relationships with colleagues.
  • Education / Qualifications

    Essential:

    • University Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP)

    Desirable:

    • JNCIA-Junos
