Candidate Must have 6+ years of experience on DevOps with AWS/Azure Platform 

This exciting role requires an innovative individual taking previous experience to identify opportunities to automate and improve existing and new cloud platform builds. There will be a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code methodology. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be considered a security and technical specialist in cloud security technology, architecture, design, systems implementation and integration with deep, specialised knowledge of Azure. The Engineer will form part of the Security Engineering team and are primarily responsible for building and maintaining a cloud environment for hosting security tools and for maintaining the cloud security tools that are used to secure the Azure estate. They may conduct technical research when necessary to contribute to setting cloud security direction and strategy. Long standing operational experience for cloud products and services with IaC experience using frameworks including Azure Bicep and Terraform.

Implement, manage, and maintain security best practice

• Implement operational best practices and improve security posture within Azure infrastructure and services, and external tooling
• Enhance tooling to make management of our pipelines and environments easier and ensure good governance and security is in place
• Design and implement changes to existing security tools, applications and processes based on changes in scope or business requirements

 Work with the business stakeholders to maintain and continually improve Advanced Products within the cloud platform:

• Commissioning and supporting IaaS & PaaS services
• Completion of system documentation and service take on

 Provide 3^rd line support on Azure IaaS/PaaS services and connectivity issues.  This requires:

• Root cause investigation, reporting to senior management with a prevention plan
• Resolution of incidents in line with contractual timescales

 Collaborate on creation and improvement of Infrastructure-as-Code deployments:

• Identify and implement innovation opportunities within existing infrastructure
• Automate deployments
• Contribute towards improving automation and scripting of tasks
• Perform proactive maintenance upon customer systems

 The nature of the role requires mandatory participation in flexible working:

• On call 24x7 support rota, providing an escalation path to the Service Desk

 Participate in continual improvement processes, modelled around meeting ISO standards:

• Change control, with peer review
• Quality driven; work planned with minimal disruption to users
• Incident investigation

• Candidate should have 6+ years of experience on Azure 

• Strong general experience in Azure using PaaS technologies
• Strong experience in Azure using Security Services with strong knowledge on Azure Global Infrastructure, services for DDoS Mitigation, IAM access control, detective controls, infrastructure protection, data protection, incident response
• Strong experience in Azure services that support security logging and monitoring, including Azure Activity Log, Defender for Cloud, Advanced Threat Detection, and Azure Security Center
• Ability to configure and fine tune cloud infrastructure systems
• Experience with running production systems, triaging and solving outages
• Experience with a modern monitoring system, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, etc
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#)
• Highly confident in Cloud Architecture
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, diagnose system and service faults and undertake problem analysis
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server services
• Strong awareness of Information Security and ITIL framework
• Familiarity with GitHub or similar, contributing to open source projects
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and the value of automation
• Familiarity with Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience of mentoring and coaching others
• Network, Security and Routing Fundamentals
• Experience of using Configuration Management tools
