To provide optimal value to the business by:
Maintaining and enhancing multiple backup environments that deliver the managed Backup service offered by Advanced.
Perform daily checks to ensure all customers’ scheduled backups have completed successfully.
Troubleshoot data backup/restore failures on multiple platforms with varied configurations, managing escalations to internal support teams to ensure SLA targets are met.
Perform emergency data restorations for server, file system and/or databases upon customer request in a calm and controlled fashion while maintaining consistent communication with the customer.
Proactively look to improve and add efficiency to current estates, escalating as necessary.
Work on projects to further the efficiency or effectiveness of the BAU function.
Providing software upgrades and delivery, 3rd line support and consultancy on the squad portfolio.
Driving continual service improvement, best practice, iterative efficiencies, and cost savings.
Authoring technically accurate documentation that is structured and relevant to the audience.
Ensuring compliance to relevant standards, both operational and security and help to ensure we can control, report, and adequately measure and handle risks the business faces.
Maintaining good culture; working collaboratively, always being part of the solution.
Knowledge and Experience
Preferably Veritas NetBackup or another Enterprise Backup solution (Carbonite – Evault, Veritas NetBackup or Veeam) trained or experienced in supporting an Enterprise Backup environment, backing up 1000’s of servers.
Experienced in data backup and restoration methodologies, including full server, Exchange DAG & SQL cluster backups.
Knowledge of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019).
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Email and networking.
Basic general understanding of databases including either of Microsoft SQL (Enterprise, Standard, Express) or Oracle.
Experience of deploying an Enterprise Backup solution (Veritas NetBackup, Carbonite (Evault), Veeam Backup and Replication).
Basic RHEL knowledge.
VMware ESXi experience.
Experience of supporting Veritas Backup Exec.

Willingness to learn other Enterprise Backup solutions.
